  • You may park in the driveway to be close to the home. You also have the option parking above the home on Lost Valley loop. There is parking available for larger vehicles and mid size travel trailers.
  • Smoking is not permitted inside, and we advise a $250 additional cleaning fee will apply if smoking is detected inside. (And smoking outside is a forest fire risk.)
  • Tap water is suitable for clothes, dishwashing, and bathing. Drink and brush teeth from supplied filtered water
  • Hot water is by an on-demand heater. There's excellent pressure, but one shower at a time is recommended
  • Stove is propane gas which burns hotter than the natural gas you may be used to so please take care when cooking
  • Refrigerator: Please keep ice cube trays covered; otherwise, fan evaporates ice and redeposits it elsewhere in the freezing compartment
  • If you use the sun umbrella on the deck, please take it down and store it in the kitchen when you are not using it (to prevent wind damage)
  • Winter visitors during snowy periods will need a suitable vehicle for mountain roads.  The home resides at a high altitude and road travel may be impossible during winter storms.  Guest should plan ahead to ensure they are properly stocked up on essentials during winter months.  It is possible that a winter storm could strand guest for several days.

Located 25 minutes East from Albuquerque Cedar Crest is situated along the Eastern base of the spectacular Sandia Mountains, the most visited range in New Mexico.

With breathtaking views of the city and the Rio Grande Valley, the area is renowned for some of the best hiking in New Mexico. With over 100 trails including the popular La Luz Trail and Crest Trail, nestled in the Cibola National Forest.

The Sandia Peak Aerial Tramway and Ski Area provide year-round recreational facilities, with a November-to-April ski season. The aerial tramway (accessible from the west side of the mountain) is the world's longest cable-car route.)

A cave in the mountains has yielded artifacts of the so-called "Sandia Man," a prehistoric Indian group that is thought to date to 23,000 BCE. In Pueblo mythology the Sandia Mountains were sacred, marking the southern boundary of the Tiwa-speaking Indian territory.
